THE GRIEF RITUAL with Sobonfu Somé
Friday, 10th July 19:00 - 21:00

The Grief Ritual
This is a transformational and soul-invigorating experience designed to break through our cultural barriers of grief. In the traditional world of the Dagara of Burkina Faso West Africa, the ritual of grief, conducted almost daily in different parts of the tribe, is the Dagara people's way of releasing the tension caused by loss, and to restore continuity in their relationships. Lead by Sobonfu, we will enter into the ritual space of grief following the traditional model of the Dagara. It is our hope that it brings the deep sense of release, peace and connectedness in your life.

The ritual starts promptly at 19:00.  Please arrive early!

INTIMACY: A GIFT FROM SPIRIT with Sobonfu Somé
Saturday, 11th July 16:00 - 18:00

Healthy relationships are at the heart of being human; yet creating healthy ones can be a challenge. How do you create and sustain healthy connections? How do you allow spirit to be your guide? We will explore these questions while focusing on the three levels of intimacy: intimacy with spirit; intimacy with the self and intimacy with loved ones.

“With a generous and tender heart, Sobonfu Somé holds out her hand. From her extended palm, she offers simply stated pearls – mined from the lives of her west African Dagara village elders, brothers and sisters - about the importance  of a living, breathing continual connection with spirit and community; about the  ways to experience a genuine intimacy with life itself.”

Putting the Heart Back into Teaching

Puting the Heart Back into TeachingMany experienced teachers have serious misgivings about the way children are educated today. They feel the emphasis on information gathering to meet the needs of commerce and industry has taken precedence over children's learning needs as developing human beings. The study of external "facts" has displaced the careful building up of inner capacities and the harmonious integration...
