Description of the organisation
The Novalis Ubuntu Institute is a resource for innovative development programmes in education and culture.

History of Novalis
Novalis’ creative facilitators and coaches from various disciplines have promoted, project managed, taught, encouraged, inspired and coached, not just thousands, but tens of thousands of participants in the Novalis Programmes since 1984.
In 1986, 250,000 visitors participated in the ‘Phenomena’ Goetheanistic Science Exhibition held in Durban over three months.
From 1991 – 2003 over 20,000 teachers participated in the ‘Putting the Heart back into Teaching’ – a 16-hour introduction to Outcomes Based Education (O.B.E) inspired by the methodology and spiritual science of educator and philosopher, Rudolf Steiner.
Since 1999, Novalis has developed what is now known as the Beautiful Schools Project. This has been successfully implemented in Limpopo Province, Northwest Province, Gauteng, KwaZulu Natal and Western Cape.
